KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany \u2013 The 21st Theater Sustainment Command \u2018Commanding General’s New Year’s Reception\u2019 took place on Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at the Armstrong Club on Vogelweh Military Complex.<\/p>\n

Maj. Gen. Ronald Ragin, commanding general, and Command Sgt. Maj. Kofie Primus, senior enlisted advisor, of the 21st TSC, hosted the reception to welcome the new year and celebrate the ongoing partnership with various high-ranking U.S., host nation, and partner nation dignitaries, both military and civilians. The reception served as a platform to strengthen alliances and foster relationships for the year ahead.<\/p>\n

The reception provided an opportunity for leaders from different nations to come together and discuss matters of mutual interest, explore avenues for cooperation and enhance collaboration in the field of sustainment and logistics.<\/p>\n

During Ragin’s opening remarks he emphasized the importance of joint operations in 2023, and how collective sustainment facilitated the arrival of multiple infantry battalions in the Iberian Peninsula and facilitated the movement from Portugal to Estonia in less than 13 days.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was unprecedented collective sustainment executed over 310 road missions using German Railways, valued at over \u20ac75 million,\u201d said Ragin. \u201cThe relentless support of our German friends enables our theater sustainment vision, particularly your military and your civilian Polizei. We cannot do it without you.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the 21st TSC continues its mission of providing sustainment support to U.S. forces in Europe, events like the New Year’s Reception play a crucial role in maintaining strong ties with Allies and Partners by fostering open lines of communication, building trust and strengthening relationships. These partnerships are vital in ensuring the collective security and readiness of the forces involved.<\/p>\n

“An event like this that brings together not only our international partners but also the local community is crucial to our ability to support operations and theater,” said Col. Matthew Alexander, the commander of the 16th Sustainment Brigade.<\/p>\n

The event served as a reminder of the enduring partnerships that exist between the 21st TSC and its Allies and Partners, and it paved the way for further collaboration in the future.<\/p>\n

“This has been very insightful and a good event for me,” said Brig. Gen. Otis C. Jones, commander of the 86th Airlift Wing. “It’s good to be with all of our partners, allies and different services all in one place as we definitely don’t get to see them as often as I’d like.
