It has spread, so it allows the military family not just to have the experience here, but at their next duty assignment or wherever they go in the Army,” Albus expressed. “Parents spend time with their children, help them to establish their vision, plan their lemonade stand, build their lemonade stand and then execute on Lemonade Day selling their product to customers. It really builds an entrepreneurial spirit with the kids, but also brings families together too.”

That connection inspired Emily Salter and her nine-year-old twins Leia and Kaylee, to participate in the program for the second year in a row.

“They’re creating that community environment,” Salter said. “It’s great that they provide that kind of group atmosphere. You’re not just doing it on your own, but your also able to talk to other people about how it works, what they’re doing and get ideas.”

Salter added that the event reinforces the value of money.

“The value of a dollar is really a big difference for them,” she said. “Seeing where it goes and how much you’re spending on groceries and lemons and even the cup costs is phenomenal.”

The event appeals to repeat participants and first-timers alike.

<img decoding="async" alt="The Lemonade Day registration event Feb. 24, 2024, at the Clear Creek Main Exchange drew repeat participants and first timers alike.
