Stressors can range from relationship struggles to dealing with anger, from workplace or home conflict to welcoming a new infant to the family.

Luera said she brainstormed the video series as one more way to inform and educate the community. Organizations already use flyers, the electronic marquee, and social media platforms – so she’s hoping the videos will help further deliver info on the resources available. She stressed that those resources are broader than just the FAP services or the ACS team.

Luera’s goal with the video show was to create a relaxed, talk-show type environment where she could have a conversation with the various subject-matter experts.

“They have so much passion for helping people, so I wanted to be able to simply talk to them and let them explain their programs,” Luera said.

The initial episode, which will be aired the first week of April, will focus on the New Parent Support Program with guest Jenny Thapa-Sitaula, the program’s home visitor.

Luera said she’s hoping the new approach strikes a chord with the community. And she is asking for as much feedback as possible.

Luera said the community can provide feedback on the videos when they post on the Garrison’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/USAGJ. But they can also call her directly at DSN 263-4783 (046-407-4783).

“I want the community to give us ideas of what they want to see, what they want to hear, what they may have questions about,” she said. “I want people to give me those ideas so that we can bring that information to them.
