REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. \u2013 Army Materiel Command transferred base operations support services and real property accountability at 22 Terminals, Depots, Activities, Arsenals, and Plants (TDAAPs) to U.S. Army Installation Management Command on Nov. 16.<\/p>\n

The move follows three years of preparations and site visits to align roles and responsibilities since IMCOM became a subordinate command of AMC in 2019. It is part of the Army\u2019s directive to establish IMCOM as the single land holding command supporting Army priorities and synchronizing installation operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Organic Industrial Base is critical to our national security,\u201d said Lt. Gen. Omar Jones, IMCOM commanding general. \u201cIMCOM\u2019s role is to support the OIB senior commanders\u2019 quality of life and readiness priorities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tamisha Love, the senior enlisted Soldier for ID-S, hosted the Spring Garrison Leader Forum on March 5-7 at Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. The forum brought together leaders from 34 Army installations within the Directorate, and Jones addressed the leaders on the forum\u2019s first day.<\/p>\n

\u201cSupporting the senior commanders is what we are all about,\u201d he said via a brief broadcast as he discussed organizational priorities. \u201cWe have to make sure that our senior commanders understand there is no stronger advocate for senior commander authority than the IMCOM team.\u201d<\/p>\n

AMC officials noted the transfer maximizes IMCOM\u2019s core competency of managing the regular Army\u2019s infrastructure and ensures a smooth transition of all real property and support functions while not affecting the installations\u2019 industrial operations mission or workload. The organizations and workforces at those sites will remain in their current facilities with existing support management from other applicable commands under AMC and continue their missions of manufacturing, repairing, upgrading, and modernizing Army equipment.<\/p>\n

Previously referred to as AMC Special Installations, the term TDAAP includes both OIBs and Military Ocean Terminals. The 22 TDAAPs affected by this reassignment consist of 13 government-owned\/government-operated\u00a0installations: Anniston Army Depot, Blue Grass Army Depot, Letterkenny Army Depot, McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, Military Ocean Terminal – Concord, Military Ocean Terminal – Sunny Point, Pine Bluff Arsenal, Pueblo Chemical Depot, Red River Army Depot, Tobyhanna Army Depot, Sierra Army Depot, Tooele Army Depot and Watervliet Arsenal; seven government-owned\/contractor-operated installations: Hawthorne Army Depot, Holston Army Ammunition Plant, Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Joint Systems Manufacturing Center – Lima, Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Radford Army Ammunition Plant and Scranton Army Ammunition Plant; and two activities on Navy installations: Corpus Christi Army Depot and Crane Army Ammunition Activity.<\/p>\n

IMCOM handles the day-to-day operations of 104 U.S. Army installations around the globe. IMCOM provides Soldier and Family Services, manages the regular Army’s infrastructure, supports readiness and deployability, and provides and integrates base operation services.
