WIESBADEN, Germany – The U.S. Army takes quality of care seriously.<\/p>\n

That is reflected in its consistent efforts and standards to ensure the best possible service in its child and youth facilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery year we\u2019re constantly focusing on particular areas for improvement (the Continuous Quality Improvement Plan),\u201d said Rosa Pacheco, Hainerberg School Age Center Director.<\/p>\n

Following a rigorous inspection by the Social Current organization (formerly known as the Council on Accreditation) in May, the Hainerberg center received its prestigious re-accreditation (conducted every four years).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe got rave reviews from the endorser,\u201d said Pacheco about the inspection, adding, \u201cAt the end of the day, it\u2019s a team effort. The positivity of this group has been amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think parents can rest assured that they\u2019re leaving their children with a quality program,\u201d Pacheco said, pointing out that the staff, feedback from the children and having a strong training curriculum all play roles in the quality of care.<\/p>\n

The center director also praised the support of the Installation Management Command-Europe through staff assistant visits and oversight \u2013 suggesting ways to streamline and enhance day-to-day operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur training curriculum specialist plays a huge role \u2013 coordinating all of those activities. And having the staff come together and using their own strengths and qualities is also huge,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWithout this accreditation, we don\u2019t have our DoD certification,\u201d Pacheco added. \u201cI think we all win \u2013 everyone contributes to this goal \u2013 it\u2019s a team effort.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Hainerberg SAC Training Curriculum Specialist Kori Lekar, undergoing the scrutiny of the accreditation team was a repeat experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve done a lot of these accreditations and this is the most confident I\u2019ve ever been going into this,\u201d Lekar said. \u201cThe staff is happy, the parents are happy \u2013 it\u2019s just a top-notch program.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lekar explained that a major part of the lesson planning process is considering the children\u2019s interests and feedback.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to focus on programs that may have an educational side, but are fun for them to be a part of,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe highest level programming \u2013 that\u2019s what we\u2019re aiming for \u2013 and that\u2019s what accreditation does,\u201d Lekar said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
