{"id":16761,"date":"2023-06-27T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-06-27T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/adn.monetizemail.com\/?p=16761"},"modified":"2023-06-28T06:41:56","modified_gmt":"2023-06-28T06:41:56","slug":"kunsan-ab-airmen-ace-red-flag-alaska-23-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adn.monetizemail.com\/?p=16761","title":{"rendered":"Kunsan AB Airmen ace Red Flag-Alaska 23-2"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><\/div>\n<p><strong class=\"article-detail-dateline\">EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska (AFNS) &#8212; \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kunsan.af.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kunsan Air Base<\/a><\/strong> Airmen trained with U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, Japan Self Defense Force and Republic of Korea air force service members during exercise Red Flag-Alaska 23-2, a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pacaf.af.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pacific Air Forces<\/a><\/strong>-sponsored annual exercise designed to enhance readiness in a simulated combat environment, June 12 through 23.<\/p>\n<p>    <!--image-->\n    <\/p>\n<p><!--media-inline--><\/p>\n<p>Airmen of the 80th Fighter Squadron and 80th Fighter Generation Squadron sharpened their tactics, techniques and procedures during the large-force, multilateral and integrated combat training across 77,000 square miles at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jber.jb.mil\/Portals\/144\/units\/JPARC\/PDF\/JPARC-Fact-Sheet.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRed Flag has been occurring for over 40 years, giving young Airmen the experience of what could be their first five combat missions,\u201d said Col. Mike McCarthy, RF-A 23-2 deployed forces commander and 8th Operations Group commander.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With approximately 2,500 personnel and 70 participating aircraft, RF-A 23-2 served as an ideal platform for international engagement. This iteration exhibited interoperability amongst allies and partners including the JASDF and ROKAF.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to welcome JASDF and ROKAF to this iteration of RED FLAG-Alaska,\u201d said Maj. William Hock, 354th Operations Group Detachment 1 assistant director of operations. \u201cTheir participation allows the opportunity to exchange tactics, techniques and procedures while we train for full spectrum engagements and large-scale joint engagement.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Each iteration of RF-A provides a unique opportunity to integrate various forces into joint, coalition and multilateral training focused on varying training objectives.
