{"id":16946,"date":"2023-06-28T13:22:05","date_gmt":"2023-06-28T13:22:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/adn.monetizemail.com\/?p=16946"},"modified":"2023-06-29T06:42:10","modified_gmt":"2023-06-29T06:42:10","slug":"navy-establishes-the-maritime-cyber-warfare-officer-mcwo-designator-1880","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adn.monetizemail.com\/?p=16946","title":{"rendered":"Navy Establishes the Maritime Cyber Warfare Officer (MCWO) Designator &#8212; 1880"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><\/div>\n<p>The 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), signed into law on Dec. 23, 2022, directed the Secretary of the Navy, in coordination with the Chief of Naval Operations, to establish a cyber warfare operations designator for officers within 180 days after enactment of the NDAA.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Previously, the Navy has utilized officers within the Information Warfare (IW) community, including Cryptologic Warfare (CW) and Information Professional (IP) to fill billets across the Cyber Operations Forces (COF).\u00a0 The establishment of MCWO will allow officers to build expertise and professional experience within the COF.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Vice Adm.
