{"id":19873,"date":"2023-07-23T13:30:00","date_gmt":"2023-07-23T13:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/adn.monetizemail.com\/?p=19873"},"modified":"2023-07-25T06:41:40","modified_gmt":"2023-07-25T06:41:40","slug":"oklahoma-dav-honors-two-va-employees-for-outstanding-dedication","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adn.monetizemail.com\/?p=19873","title":{"rendered":"Oklahoma DAV honors two VA Employees for outstanding dedication"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/nrd.gov\/resource\/detail\/8644474\/Disabled+American+Veterans+(DAV)+-++Department+of+Oklahoma\">Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Department of Oklahoma<\/a> recently awarded two VA employees the DAV Oklahoma Commander\u2019s Award for their outstanding dedication to the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA).<\/p>\n<p>Each year, DAV Oklahoma members and leaders nominate and select a VHA and VBA Employee of the Year. The winners were formally recognized on June 14, during the DAV Oklahoma Commanders Banquet &amp; Awards night.<\/p>\n<p>DAV National Commander Joseph \u201cJoe\u201d Parsetich presented the DAV Oklahoma Commander\u2019s Award to each recipient. The awards recognize employees who go above and beyond their regular duties, finding solutions that benefit our fellow Veterans.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/adn.monetizemail.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Heather-McKibben-1-scaled-7.jpg\"><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Heather McKibben<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Parsetich presented the Outstanding VHA Employee of the Year\u00a0award to Army Veteran Cliff Tracy, a health system specialist and patient advocate for the VA Rocky Mountain Network. He was honored for his role as the former lead patient advocate with the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Cliff\u2019s case, his duty as a patient advocate is to assist Veterans in resolving their issues within the VHA,\u201d said Danny Oliver, DAV Oklahoma state adjutant. \u201cHowever, Cliff always goes the extra mile to ensure Veterans understand not only the issue but the solution as well.\u00a0His \u2018can-do\u2019 attitude always leaves him leaning forward in his mission of aiding his fellow Veterans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe partnership we have in Oklahoma among our Veteran organizations is special, and it\u2019s an honor to be considered a part of this team,\u201d said Tracy.<\/p>\n<p>Parsetich presented the Outstanding VBA Employee of the Year\u00a0award to\u00a0Marine Corps Veteran Heather McKibben, a supervisory Veteran Service Representative for the Muskogee Regional Office Veterans Service Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeather has never met a Veteran\u2019s claim that wasn\u2019t given the utmost respect and reviewed with the integrity that ensures both the Veteran and VBA decisions are only based on facts and eligibility,\u201d said Oliver.\u00a0\u201cAs a trainer, she has an uncanny ability to reach the newest service officer to the seasoned professional while always instilling her \u2018can do\u2019 attitude to seek the truths that will best serve the Veterans and their families. Heather has a true `warriors\u2019 heart\u2019 for serving her fellow Veterans.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am humbled and honored to receive recognition from the DAV,\u201d said McKibben. \u201cI absolutely love being able to assist Veterans every day, and I am blessed to be in a position that allows me to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Parsetich added: \u201cDAV is proud to recognize such worthy individuals who have dedicated their lives to serving Veterans.
