Do you ever wonder what it would be like to stop rushing and just completely pause, even just for a moment? All day long, we are moving from one task to another\u2014constantly moving, always busy. Even when we are sitting down, our minds might still be moving and rushing. But when we take the time to just pause\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/www.va.gov\/WHOLEHEALTH\/Veteran-Handouts\/docs\/MindAwarePract-508Final-9-4-2018.pdf\">truly pause<\/a>\u2014we have the precious opportunity to create space in our life. This space is actually very important to the rhythm of our life.<\/p>\n<p>French composer Claude Debussy said, \u201cMusic is the space between the notes.\u201d Without the pauses between the notes, there would just be one long continuous note. That\u2019s not music! That  would be boring! Similarly, the music of life is in the space between our rushing and thinking.<\/p>\n<p>In this video, Katherine Hillgren, Whole Health coach and yoga instructor at VA St. Louis Healthcare System, guides us through an iRest meditation where we can slow down, pause and relax into the space of this moment.
