Maj. Yves Pamphil about his running campaign to raise money for AER.<\/p>\n<p>Pamphil developed the idea of connecting his love of running and his desire to help Soldiers by raising money through donations in support of the 2024 AER campaign. He wanted to do more than ask for donations, so he decided to challenge himself by long distance running, over time, to encourage donations, through AER, in support of Soldiers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"editor-image single\">\n<figure class=\"photo cur-photo\">\n          <span class=\"centered-image\"><br \/>\n            <span class=\"img-container\"><br \/>\n              <a class=\"rich-text-img-link\" href=\"https:\/\/api.army.mil\/e2\/c\/images\/2024\/09\/18\/3a6c8c13\/original.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n                <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Garrison Wiesbaden Command Sgt. Pamphil was mission complete within his self-allotted 40-day timeline and, after running more than 320 total miles, he was able to contribute more than $1200 to this year\u2019s USAG Wiesbaden AER totals.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI am already doing something I love, and if I could encourage donations (&#8230;) based on my running, it was like killing two birds with one stone,\u201d said Pamphil. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Pamphil, in speaking with some other senior leaders around the installation, hopes to include opportunities for servicemembers to raise money by cycling or swimming in support of next year\u2019s AER campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The AER headquarters team and Pamphil were able to create a quick response, or QR, code which made it easier to donate funds.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe [AER] really appreciate it, so we can count on you for 250 miles, next year?,\u201d asked Grinston.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>For more information about USAG Wiesbaden\u2019s AER efforts read:<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;USAG Wiesbaden ends 2024 AER campaign ranked first in Europe for second year running&#8217; via DVIDS link <a href=\"https:\/\/www.army.mil\/article\/278140\" target=\"_blank\">www.army.mil\/article\/278140<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;USAG Wiesbaden&#8217;s continued AER success begins with Soldiers&#8217; understanding benefits to donating&#8217; via DVIDS link <a href=\"https:\/\/www.army.mil\/article\/274167\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.army.mil\/article\/274167\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Army Emergency Relief Chairman Tony Grinston (left) and Command Sgt.
