What has been found so far has been documented and will appear in a photographic exhibition at the District Museum.

The photos will present the discovered architectural assumptions, technical solutions used primarily for protection against flooding, as well as wooden structures at the Monastery Gate, most likely related to the oldest stage of the foundation of the church, monastery and hospital.

– In addition to the sacral complex of the Holy Spirit, the discovered remains of the use of this place in the 18th and 19th centuries (the so-called Little Fishermen) will be presented. We plan to exhibit a large number of movable monuments obtained during the research in the display cases, e.g. stone slabs from the hypocaust, shaped bricks, ceramic vessels, everyday objects. We will present the history of this place against the background of the turbulent history of the Benedictine nuns based on the “Chronicle of the Benedictine nuns of Toruń” – explains Leszek Kucharski from the Department of Archaeology of the District Museum in Toruń.

The exhibition opening is planned for September/October 2025.

Post-plein-air exhibition 16. “Art Park” in Boleslawiec

The 16th Painting Plein Air “Art Park” was fortunate enough to take place once again on the premises of the Kliczków Castle hotel complex near Bolesławiec,

Thanks to the cooperation and support of the Culture and Art Centre in Wrocław – the Cultural Institution of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, the Pro Culturae Bono Foundation and the Bolesławiec Culture Centre – the International Centre of Ceramics.

10 artists from Lower Silesia and beyond were invited to participate. The artists, traditionally living and creating in the complex belonging to the Kliczków Castle Conference and Recreation Centre, took advantage of the charms of the green areas of the Lower Silesian Forests, and had the opportunity to visit the picturesque surroundings of the city of Bolesławiec, learn about the history of the place and enjoy the charms of nature.

The plein air is 10 artists, 10 attitudes of representatives of different generations, but also 10 days of stay, 10 evenings, where you could have long conversations about art and life. These days allowed you to slowly open up to each other, get to know each other, recognize each other, talk, be silent, observe, “with impunity” and freely confront yourself with other artists. Work in the studio, as you can guess, is observation of yourself, on the level of your personal horizon. Meeting 10 artists in a space outside the comfort zone of your own studio gives (not necessarily) the possibility of a broader perspective, exchange of thoughts, images, experiences. A synergy of the group and community is created. The curator of the plein air is Krystyna Szczepaniak.

The culmination of the plein air is an exhibition at the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre, to the opening of which we cordially invite you on November 8, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. The works will be available for viewing in the “W sam raz” gallery until November 24, 2024 during the opening hours of the FORUM Cinema.

Polish Independence Day accros US Army Installations

Torun:

The 106th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence is upon us.
