These specially selected Fellows will acquire and apply editorial skills at our Centers of Excellence to revitalize our professional journals,\u201d Gen. Gary M. Brito, Commanding General, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. \u201cThis program not only strengthens the quality and accessibility of our military journals but also ensures that our leaders can share lessons learned and insights that drive professional discourse and discussion in support of our Army\u2019s mission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The FY25 Harding Fellow Cohort includes:<\/p>\n<p><em>Army Sustainment<\/em>: Capt. Steven M. Denaro (AG)<\/p>\n<p><em>Military Intelligence Professional Bulletin<\/em>: Capt. Thepnakone T. Souimaniphanh (MI)<\/p>\n<p><em>Special Warfare<\/em>: 1st Sgt. Alexander A. Conaty (CA)<\/p>\n<p><em>Infantry<\/em>: Capt. Jared G. Petersen<\/p>\n<p><em>Air Defense Artillery Journal<\/em>: Capt. Matthew A. Becker (AD)<\/p>\n<p>Capt. Matthew Becker is one of the five Soldiers selected for the second group of Harding Fellows.<\/p>\n<p>The program provides Becker with the chance to improve himself and his profession.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am always drawn to opportunities that are both challenging and rewarding,\u201d he said. \u201cThe Harding Fellowship offers a unique platform to push my intellectual and professional boundaries while representing and promoting the Air Defense Artillery branch, highlighting its vital contributions to the Army\u2019s mission.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Harding Fellow Program\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Maj. Gen.<\/p>\n<p>Edwin Forrest Harding Fellowship was established in July 2024 as a continuation of the Harding Project\u2019s drive for cultural change through professional writing and discourse.<\/p>\n<p>The first group included 11 junior officers, hand-picked by their branch leadership, to be the first uniformed editors for their Army branch journals in almost two decades.<\/p>\n<p>Paired with the talented civilian editors, the Fellows worked to renew the impact of their journals.<\/p>\n<p>The first Fellows were instrumental in the increase of professional writing and publication across their respective journals, with a nearly 50% increase in submissions.<\/p>\n<p>They also supported the launch of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lineofdeparture.army.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\">Line of Departure<\/a> website, which provides web-first, mobile-friendly professional pieces for the Army from any device and location.<\/p>\n<p>The program, which is a two-year assignment, became an official broadening opportunity in August 2024.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the CSA\u2019s Harding Project, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hardingproject.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Harding Project Substack | Zachary Griffiths | Substack<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Harding Project is a CSA initiative to renew professional writing and discourse across the Army.
