Veterans form online gaming communities through platforms such as Discord chat, where they can hang out and play games\u2014both casually and competitively. One of those platforms is Stack Up, and its Discord has become a safe haven to get away from life\u2019s difficulties and everyday problems.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stackup.org\/stop\">Stack Up\u2019s Overwatch Program<\/a> came about due to Stack Up\u2019s mission of supporting Veterans \u201cthrough the power of gaming\u201d and an organic need for its online community members\u2019 support for mental well-being. PTSD, depression and other emotional distresses caused by daily life affect Veterans and supportive civilian community members alike. For some, carrying those burdens makes it harder to enjoy themselves while gaming.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/adn.monetizemail.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/FrXyZzXagAEuG8G-5.jpeg\"><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the Overwatch Program?<\/h2>\n<p>It\u2019s a 24\/7\/365 online, peer-to-peer crisis intervention and mental health support offered through the Stack Up Discord. Overwatch Program staff and volunteers are HIPAA-certified and PyschArmor-trained, and certified for crisis management.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is eligible to use the Overwatch Program?<\/h2>\n<p>Veterans, active duty military members and civilians who come through the Stack Up Discord server are all eligible to access the Overwatch Program.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Access the Overwatch Program<\/h2>\n<p>Download the <a href=\"https:\/\/discord.com\/download\">Discord app<\/a> from your PC or phone, sign up for a Discord account and then join the Stack Up Discord at discord.gg\/stackupdotorg. Post in #The-Overwatch-Program channel to ask for help.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Volunteer as a Peer-to-Peer Support for the Overwatch Program<\/h2>\n<p>We\u2019re looking for good listeners who know how to handle people in crisis, including those who may be preparing to do something life-threatening and who are seeking help to prevent that. In the Overwatch Program, peer-to-peer support volunteers go through several training scenarios to prepare for guiding people through some of their toughest moments.
