(AFNS) &#8212; \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.idf.il\/en\/mini-sites\/israeli-air-force\/\" target=\"_blank\">Israeli Air Force<\/a><\/strong> returned to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nellis.af.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Nellis Air Force Base<\/strong><\/a> to participate in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acc.af.mil\/News\/Article-Display\/Article\/3327646\/red-flag-nellis-23-2-underway\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0<strong>Red Flag 23-2<\/strong><\/a>, this time with its F-35I Adir. The large-scale <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nellis.af.mil\/News\/Article-Display\/Article\/3326048\/red-flag-nellis-23-2-underway\/\" target=\"_blank\">exercise<\/a><\/strong> took place from March 13-24, challenging participants to adapt to and overcome complex, multi-domain scenarios, all while up against Nellis AFB\u2019s professional\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nellis.af.mil\/About\/Fact-Sheets\/Display\/Article\/284166\/64th-aggressor-squadron\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>aggressor<\/strong><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nellis.af.mil\/About\/Fact-Sheets\/Display\/Article\/284166\/64th-aggressor-squadron\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0<\/a>force trained to replicate threats participants will see in real-world conflict.<\/p>\n<p>The IAF&#8217;s participation in Red Flag 23-2 builds on the success of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dvidshub.net\/feature\/JuniperOak2023\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Juniper Oak 23-2<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.centcom.mil\/MEDIA\/igphoto\/2002986239\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Juniper Falcon<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and other combined exercises and provides the U.S. Air Force the opportunity to enhance interoperability with the IAF, strengthen bilateral cooperation and improve capabilities in ways that enhance and promote regional stability and reinforce the United States\u2019 enduring commitment to Israel\u2019s security.<\/p>\n<p>The IAF first participated in Red Flag in 1978 and their return to Nellis AFB after a seven-year absence underscores the importance of the relationship between the United States and Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Red Flag exercises are designed to provide joint and allied partners with realistic training scenarios and the skillset to maintain readiness and preparedness for potential real-world scenarios.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The F-35 Adir is a game-changer for us,&#8221; said the IAF 140 Squadron commander. &#8220;Its advanced capabilities make it an ideal platform for participating in complex exercises like Red Flag. We&#8217;re excited to showcase the capabilities of this aircraft to our American partners and learn from the experience of flying alongside them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The IAF\u2019s employment of the Adir in this iteration provides mutually beneficial interoperability training opportunities while flying alongside of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.af.mil\/About-Us\/Fact-Sheets\/Display\/Article\/478441\/f-35a-lightning-ii\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>F-35A Lightning II<\/strong><\/a>s from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hill.af.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Hill Air Force Base<\/strong><\/a>, Utah.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Israeli F-35 participation in Red Flag 23-2 is another step forward for the U.S. and its allies in the transition to the next level of air warfare,\u201d said Col. Jared Hutchinson, 414th Combat Training Squadron commander.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The F-35I Adir\u2019s participation in the exercise marks the first time the aircraft has been deployed to the United States. The IAF&#8217;s fleet of Adirs are state-of-the-art fighter jets equipped with advanced sensors and communication systems.
