(AFNS)  &#8212; \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Air Force Chief of Staff <a href=\"https:\/\/www.af.mil\/About-Us\/Biographies\/Display\/Article\/108485\/charles-q-brown-jr\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Gen. CQ Brown, Jr.<\/strong><\/a>, visited with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.158fw.ang.af.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Vermont Air National Guard<\/strong><\/a> Airmen April 1.<\/p>\n<p>Brown met with Airmen, local civic leaders and held an all-call.<\/p>\n<p><!--media-inline--><\/p>\n<p>During the all-call, Brown emphasized his priority of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.af.mil\/Portals\/1\/documents\/csaf\/CSAF_22\/CSAF_22_Strategic_Approach_Accelerate_Change_or_Lose_31_Aug_2020.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>accelerating change<\/strong><\/a> within the Air Force and explained why it is so crucial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood enough today will fail tomorrow,\u201d he said. \u201cAs Airmen, we need to integrate and accelerate the changes necessary to develop our talent and maintain our advantage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As part of accelerating change, Brown discussed his focus on giving Airmen access to the tools they need to accomplish their missions effectively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re going to have to be able to drive change,\u201d Brown said. \u201cWe need to put capability back into the hands of our Airmen, and we need to get back to ensuring we stay ready as an Air Force.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another point Brown discussed was how to improve Air Force culture, specifically, how Airmen build <a href=\"https:\/\/www.resilience.af.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>resilience<\/strong><\/a> and ensure their wingmen are doing the same.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want you to focus on taking care of Airmen,\u201d Brown said. \u201cThat starts with leadership and getting to know your Airmen. It\u2019s hard to know if the Airman that works next to you is having a bad day if you don\u2019t know them in the first place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The visit allowed Brown an opportunity to show his appreciation for the efforts and sacrifices made by the Airmen of the Vermont ANG.<\/p>\n<p><!--media-inline--><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Brown met with civic leaders and discussed the importance of the partnership between the Vermont ANG and the local community. Brown also commented on the importance of building relationships and collaboration within military communities, with lawmakers and industry, and international teammates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve spent most of my time as a general officer working with our international partners and allies. It\u2019s essential that we\u2019re including them at the very start.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before his departure, Brown reiterated his appreciation for the Airmen\u2019s service and thanked their families for supporting them as they stand watch alongside their uniformed loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI appreciate the sacrifices you and your families make to allow you to do what you do,\u201d Brown said. \u201cNot everybody can raise their right hand and take an oath and decide to serve our nation and be part of something bigger than themselves, to be part of the world\u2019s most respected Air Force.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"ast-split ntext breakout \">\n<div class=\"item\">\n<div class=\"body\">\n<section class=\"ast-brandedhr\">\n<div class=\"ast-brandedhr-line\">\n<p>                <title>U.S. Air Force Logo<\/title><\/p><\/div>\n<\/section><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VERMONT AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Vt.
