{"id":536617,"date":"2025-07-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-16T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/adn.monetizemail.com\/?p=536617"},"modified":"2025-07-16T16:14:06","modified_gmt":"2025-07-16T16:14:06","slug":"317th-aw-showcases-combat-readiness-in-major-amc-inspection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adn.monetizemail.com\/?p=536617","title":{"rendered":"317th AW showcases combat readiness in major AMC inspection"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.defense.gov\/2025\/Jul\/09\/2003755216\/2000\/2000\/0\/250701-F-BR206-1319.JPG\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong class=\"article-detail-dateline\">DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) &#8212; \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dyess.af.mil\/Fact-Sheets\/Display\/Article\/3824756\/317th-airlift-wing\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>317th Airlift Wing<\/strong><\/a> completed the initial phase of its first-ever Combat Readiness Inspection, evaluated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amc.af.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Air Mobility Command<\/strong><\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dyess.af.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Dyess Air Force Base<\/strong><\/a>, Texas, July 8, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The CRI measured the wing\u2019s ability to rapidly deploy combat-ready forces in contested, degraded and operationally limited environments, directly supporting Air Force and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Department of Defense<\/strong><\/a> objectives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur wing\u2019s number one priority is \u2018mission execution upon notification\u2019,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dyess.af.mil\/About-Us\/Base-Leadership\/Display\/Article\/1597778\/justin-l-diehl\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Col. Justin Diehl<\/strong><\/a>, 317th AW commander. \u201c317th Airmen continuously train to rapidly respond with precision to the most complex operating environments in the world, and this inspection offered another opportunity to validate their timelines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The inspection began with a mock 24-hour deployment notification. Airmen received scenario-based intelligence, a briefing from leadership and guidance on deployment expectations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen given a sudden notification to deploy, our team has the necessary skills to move out and lead at scale,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dyess.af.mil\/About-Us\/Base-Leadership\/Display\/Article\/1655851\/martin-a-castillo\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Chief Master Sergeant Martin Castillo<\/strong><\/a>, 317th AW command chief. \u201cThis gives the wing the ability to execute the commander\u2019s intent instantly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the CRI, AMC inspectors general and wing inspection team members evaluated the 317th AW\u2019s execution of deployment operations. Airmen were tasked to rapidly generate aircraft, process cargo and mission plan while also completing the associated administrative and medical requirements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe key to success in this CRI is our \u2018we\u2019re going\u2019 mindset,\u201d Castillo said. \u201cOur Airmen understand that our culture is rooted in being prepared to deploy at a moment\u2019s notice to execute high-end operations around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Upon receiving the CRI deployment order, Airmen staged pallets and equipment for transport, loaded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.af.mil\/About-Us\/Fact-Sheets\/Display\/Article\/1555054\/c-130-hercules\/\"><strong>C-130J Super Hercules<\/strong><\/a> aircraft and prepared aircrews for maximum endurance operations, ensuring the 317th AW performed mission execution upon notification.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Airmen consistently meet and exceed our expectations,\u201d Diehl said. \u201cThey think and move fast, maintaining the precision required to respond to global operations in contested environments. The CRI was another opportunity to highlight the effort they put in every day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 317th AW used the CRI to prepare to participate in the Air Force\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.af.mil\/News\/Article-Display\/Article\/4236472\/daf-kicks-off-department-level-exercise-series-in-pacific\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Department Level Exercise<\/strong><\/a>, an initiative designed to demonstrate the service\u2019s readiness for complex, large-scale military operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis wing operates at the leading edge,\u201d Diehl said. \u201cThrough the CRI, our Airmen demonstrated their ability through their advanced training to solve challenges in an increasingly complex global environment.<\/p>\n<p>The completion of the initial phase of the CRI underscores the 317th AW\u2019s ability to generate and employ combat-ready airpower at a moment\u2019s notice.
