ANSBACH, Germany \u2013 U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach is improving the vehicle inspection and registration process for community members by relocating the Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) from Barton Barracks to Katterbach Kaserne.<\/p>\n

The intent behind the move is to bring all three key vehicle in-processing steps \u2014 vehicle pickup, inspection, and registration \u2014 closer together, streamlining the experience for Soldiers, civilians and families.<\/p>\n

The move completes efforts to consolidate the services into a one-stop location. In July 2025, the Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) Inspection Facility moved from Barton Barracks to Katterbach Kaserne<\/a>. And the Vehicle Registration Office (VRO) is already located at Katterbach.<\/p>\n

Currently, U.S. military personnel in Ansbach complete vehicle in-processing in three steps:<\/p>\n

  1. Pick up your vehicle at the VPC<\/li>\n
  2. Get your vehicle inspected at the POV Inspection Facility<\/li>\n
  3. Register your vehicle at the VRO<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Now all three services will be co-located within walking distances of each other at Katterbach.<\/p>\n
