Surrounded by scars from the past, Team Hickam understands the importance of readiness, capitalizing on the 15th Wing\u2019s mission to project and sustain airpower throughout the Indo-Pacific.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>Hickam\u2019s leadership <\/span>showcased these capabilities and priorities to Secretary of the Air Force <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.af.mil\/About-Us\/Biographies\/Display\/Article\/108402\/dr-troy-e-meink\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span>Troy Meink<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/strong><span> during a base visit on July 25.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>\u201cJoint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam serves as a strategic <\/span>steppingstone,\u201d Meink said. \u201cThe installation is prepared to rapidly disperse service members, equipment and aircraft across the region to defend our interests and allies and partners in the Pacific.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>As the first stop during an Indo-Pacific tour, <\/span>Meink was familiarized with Hickam\u2019s ability to support transient aircraft and troops, rapidly deploy Airmen within a short timeframe and project airpower during both exercises and real-world operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>During the visit, multiple components of Team Hickam <\/span>showcased their support of the Air Force\u2019s <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.af.mil\/DLE\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span>Department-Level Exercise series<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/strong><span>, a combination of multiple command exercises with one overall threat deterrence scenario.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>\u201cWe are in the heart of exercise season at the 15th Wing,\u201d said <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.15wing.af.mil\/About-Us\/Biographies\/Display\/Article\/2270887\/garrett-c-fisher\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span>Col. Garrett Fisher<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/strong><span>, 15th Wing commander. \u201cThese exercises are key to deterring our adversaries and assuring our allies and partners that we take defense of the Pacific seriously.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>The <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.15wing.af.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span>15th Wing<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/strong><span> and<\/span> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.154wg.ang.af.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span>154th Wing, Hawaii Air National Guard<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/strong><span>, <\/span>utilized six <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.af.mil\/About-Us\/Fact-Sheets\/Display\/Article\/1529726\/c-17-globemaster-iii\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span>C-17 Globemaster IIIs<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/strong> <span>alongside international partners during <\/span>exercise Talisman Sabre 2025, delivering over 300 paratroopers and seven heavy equipment platforms to Australia.
