Every Veteran who comes to VA brings their own experiences, needs and goals. Whether it\u2019s choosing your provider\u2019s gender, requesting a chaperone or using telehealth, we want to support and deliver care on your terms.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Care designed for women Veterans<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.va.gov\/?s=Women+Veterans\">Women Veterans<\/a> are the fastest-growing group of Veterans and VA continues to expand services to meet your needs. Your VA health care team is trained to provide personalized, trauma-informed care that supports your physical, emotional and mental well-being.<\/p>\n<p>When you enroll in VA health care, you unlock access to a wide range of services to support this approach. You have access to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.va.gov\/WOMENSHEALTH\/docs\/General-Health-Services-Brochure.pdf\">routine care<\/a> and management of long-term disorders, but VA also provides care specifically designed for you as a woman Veteran.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on your needs, VA offers:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.patientcare.va.gov\/primarycare\/index.asp\">Primary Care<\/a>:\u00a0 Patient-centered approach to health care, organized as a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) that provides long-term, personalized care for Veterans.\u00a0Your PACT acts as your first point of contact, coordinating care, promoting health, preventing disease, and managing chronic and acute conditions through a comprehensive, team-based approach with your health professionals, family and caregivers.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.va.gov\/WOMENSHEALTH\/topics\/reproductive-health.asp\">Gynecologic Care<\/a>: From reproductive health to fertility and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.va.gov\/WOMENSHEALTH\/topics\/menopause.asp\">menopause<\/a> support.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.va.gov\/WOMENSHEALTH\/topics\/maternity-care.asp\">Maternity Care<\/a>: Prenatal, delivery, postpartum care and maternity care coordinators.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.va.gov\/WOMENSHEALTH\/topics\/mental-health.asp\">Mental Health Support<\/a>: Specialists trained in supporting women facing posttraumatic stress disorder, military sexual trauma (MST), depression or intimate partner violence.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.va.gov\/WOMENSHEALTH\/topics\/general-health-and-wellness.asp\">Cancer and Preventive Screenings<\/a>: Early detection for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer, plus access to oncology care.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.va.gov\/wholehealth\/\">Whole Health and Complementary Therapies<\/a>: Options like yoga, acupuncture, meditation and art therapy to support your wellness.<\/li>\n<li>Convenient Care Options may be available in your area. Be sure to ask about: Expanded hours, childcare support during appointments, telehealth, at-home care, mail-order prescriptions, transportation assistance and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A team committed to your care<\/h2>\n<p>Many VA facilities have a dedicated women\u2019s health team, which may include a women\u2019s health primary care provider, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.va.gov\/WOMENSHEALTH\/wvpm-locator.asp\">women Veterans program manager<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.va.gov\/WOMENSHEALTH\/topics\/maternity-care.asp#mcc\">maternity care coordinator<\/a> and women\u2019s mental health champions. Their role is to help you feel supported and connected to the right care.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enrolling in VA health care<\/h2>\n<p>If you served honorably, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.va.gov\/WOMENSHEALTH\/eligibility.asp\">you may be eligible<\/a>, even if you don\u2019t have a service-connected disability or didn\u2019t deploy. You may also qualify for free mental health care for one year post-discharge or for MST-related care at any time.<\/p>\n<p>If you need help <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.va.gov\/WOMENSHEALTH\/how-to-apply.asp\">applying<\/a>, call the Women Veterans Call Center at 1-855-VA-WOMEN (1-855-829-6636). They are open Monday\u2013Friday, 8 a.m. \u2013 10 p.m. ET, and Saturday, 8 a.m. \u2013 6:30 p.m. ET.
