In partnership with the Departments of Justice and Interior, VA is part of a joint task force focused on raising awareness of MMIWG and reducing violent crime against American Indians and Alaska Natives.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s estimated that four out of five Native women experience some form of violence in their lifetime. Native women also face murder rates more than 10 times the national average. Despite efforts to raise awareness, of the 5,712 cases of MMIWG in the United States, only 116 were included in the Department of Justice database.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/adn.monetizemail.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Indian-women-group_r1-4.jpg\"><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Partner with VA in raising awareness about MMIWG<\/h2>\n<p>VA is actively working to raise awareness within our community.
