DON\u00a0and DLA are committed\u00a0to the success\u00a0of\u00a0regular engagement with stakeholders and community groups, including the CRI. \u00a0Consequently,\u00a0senior leaders\u00a0at DON and DLA, which are\u00a0signatories to the 2023\u00a0Administrative Consent Order (ACO),\u00a0will\u00a0re-evaluate\u00a0the effectiveness of the process to date,\u00a0to improve the outcomes directed by the ACO.\u00a0The ACO requires the CRI to convene for two meetings per\u00a0quarter, and provide\u00a0one public update per quarter.\u00a0In advance of the\u00a0first quarterly meeting of 2024 in\u00a0February, the Federal agencies will work with\u00a0the\u00a0CRI community representatives to\u00a0revise\u00a0operating\u00a0procedures and\u00a0ground rules\u00a0that will ensure civil discussion among CRI participants.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0two quarterly meetings in\u00a0February and March\u00a0come in advance of, and will inform,\u00a0the March quarterly public update.\u00a0The Navy Closure Task Force-Red Hill\u00a0(NCTF-RH), which has begun\u00a0a formal transition with Joint Task Force-Red Hill to assume responsibility for the remainder of the closure process,\u00a0will support\u00a0DON and DLA\u00a0by providing updates on defueling, closure, and implementation of\u00a0drinking water requirements.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

NCTF-RH\u00a0and the\u00a0Joint Task Force-Red Hill\u00a0(JTF-RH)\u00a0will\u00a0host a combined public open house\u00a0February\u00a07\u00a0at the\u00a0Ke\u2019ehi\u00a0Lagoon\u00a0Memorial Hall\u00a0where they will provide\u00a0updates on defueling, closure, and\u00a0water monitoring.<\/p>\n
