Vicenza, Italy\u00a0\u2014\u00a0A surfeit of new and enhanced healthcare services is coming to the U.S.\u00a0Army Health Center\u00a0Vicenza this quarter.<\/p>\n

Active\u00a0duty\u00a0service members and dependents can look forward to expedient respiratory care, walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations, and educational programs for all pregnant women within the Vicenza Military Community.<\/p>\n

Col.\u00a0Michele\u00a0Kehrle, the clinic\u2019s commander,\u00a0addressed the\u00a0topic\u00a0at the Community and Leaders Information Forum, Feb. 17. The\u00a0monthly\u00a0forum\u00a0held\u00a0at the Golden Lion community center on\u00a0Caserma\u00a0Ederle\u00a0was\u00a0live-streamed\u00a0on\u00a0AFN Vicenza and The\u00a0Garrison Outlook Facebook page.<\/p>\n

From Jan.\u00a017\u00a0through\u00a0March\u00a08, the center will provide an acute respiratory care walk-in service. The appointments will provide rapid diagnosis of pneumonia, COVID-19, RSV, and other viral and respiratory illnesses, according to\u00a0Kehrle, along with treatment plans and return to school or work notes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a first time ever for us,\u201d\u00a0Kehrle\u00a0said speaking of the initiative, which is available Mondays,\u00a0Wednesdays\u00a0and Fridays from\u00a08\u00a0to 10 a.m.<\/p>\n

Also available for walk-ins is the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine. From\u00a08\u00a0to 11 a.m.\u00a0on Thursdays, the Readiness Clinic administers the vaccines for anyone six months of age and older.<\/p>\n

For expectant mothers,\u00a0Kehrle\u00a0announced the reopening of the OB orientation program, to be held every first Wednesday of the month from 08:30\u00a0to 11:30\u00a0a.m.\u00a0The program covers a range of topics, from nutrition to postpartum care.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is something we haven\u2019t held since pre-Covid,\u201d\u00a0Kehrle\u00a0explained.<\/p>\n

Looking to the future,\u00a0Kehrle\u00a0also announced plans to set up a Patient Service Center. The center will provide streamlined access to beneficiary counselors, patient advocates, a\u00a0TriCare\u00a0service representative, and more.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal is to have this established way ahead of PCS season, ideally by end of February,\u201d\u00a0Kehrle\u00a0said.<\/p>\n
