Some conditions include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chronic (long-lasting) back pain resulting in a current diagnosed back disability<\/li>\n<li>Breathing problems resulting from a current lung condition or lung disease<\/li>\n<li>Severe hearing loss<\/li>\n<li>Loss of range of motion (problems moving your body)<\/li>\n<li>Ulcers<\/li>\n<li>Cancers or other conditions caused by contact with toxic chemicals or other dangers<\/li>\n<li>Anxiety<\/li>\n<li>Depression<\/li>\n<li>Mental or physical health conditions related to military sexual trauma<\/li>\n<li>Posttraumatic stress disorder<\/li>\n<li>Traumatic brain injury<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The money that disability compensation pays each month is available for Veterans with a disability rating of 10% or more. You may qualify for hundreds or thousand of dollars per month in compensation (See the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.va.gov\/disability\/compensation-rates\/veteran-rates\/\" target=\"_blank\">2024 disability compensation rates<\/a>). Veterans with a disability rating of 10% or more also gain access to free or low-cost health care through VA.<\/p>\n<p>Already have a disability rating? Applying for other ratable disabilities will not put your current disability rating at risk. If you have a rating for hearing loss, filing a new claim for a back condition will not affect it.
