{"id":99751,"date":"2024-01-24T23:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-01-25T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/adn.monetizemail.com\/?p=99751"},"modified":"2024-01-26T02:16:55","modified_gmt":"2024-01-26T02:16:55","slug":"it-functional-administrator-takes-pride-in-tackling-multifaceted-challenges-with-mwr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adn.monetizemail.com\/?p=99751","title":{"rendered":"IT functional administrator takes pride in tackling multifaceted challenges with MWR"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"editor-image single\">\n<figure class=\"photo cur-photo\">\n          <span class=\"centered-image\"><br \/>\n            <span class=\"img-container\"><br \/>\n              <a class=\"rich-text-img-link\" href=\"https:\/\/api.army.mil\/e2\/c\/images\/2024\/01\/25\/5fa83d15\/original.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n<p>              <\/a><br \/>\n                          <\/span><br \/>\n          <\/span><figcaption>\n                        <span class=\"image-caption\"><br \/>\n              <span class=\"caption-text\"><br \/>\n                U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden Family and MWR Director Gregory Holzinger (left) recognizes Jeremy Tice for 25 years of service.<br \/>\n                <span class=\"caption-author\"> (Photo Credit: Casey Malloy)<\/span><br \/>\n              <\/span><br \/>\n              <a href=\"https:\/\/api.army.mil\/e2\/c\/images\/2024\/01\/25\/5fa83d15\/original.jpg\" title=\"View original\" target=\"_blank\">VIEW ORIGINAL<\/a><br \/>\n            <\/span><br \/>\n          <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>WIESBADEN, Germany &#8212; Wiesbaden Family and MWR Functional Administrator Jeremy Tice is no stranger to military life.<\/p>\n<p>A self-proclaimed \u201cmilitary brat\u201d and graduate of Wiesbaden High School, Tice has spent most of his adult working career in various positions with MWR and the Army and Air Force Exchange Service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve probably worked about 30 different jobs during my life so far,\u201d said the Birmingham, Ala., native.<\/p>\n<p>Having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental management with a minor in psychology, Tice initially wanted to be a Park Ranger.<\/p>\n<p>In 2005 he took a job with Wiesbaden Family and MWR at the Rheinblick Golf Course before moving on to work with MWR\u2019s Child and Youth Services \u2013 and eventually the MWR IT division.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was always tinkering on my own \u2013 taking friends\u2019 computers apart,\u201d he said, explaining that MWR Lead Information Technology Specialist Larry Harmon encouraged him to become \u201cbase-line certified.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI realized he\u2019s a really fast learner and basically has outgrown his functional administrator role,\u201d said Harmon, explaining that like his fellow IT professionals, Tice has taken on the multifaceted challenges that comprise the position.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt all comes naturally to him,\u201d said Harmon. \u201cHe\u2019s extremely competent and has stepped way beyond his set of duties (comparing him to a real-world application manager in the civilian world).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harmon added that he can count on Tice\u2019s know-how and dedication. \u201cHe\u2019s available mornings, weekends and nights \u2013 whenever he is needed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI like where I\u2019m at,\u201d said Tice, a married father of two teenage children. \u201cIt\u2019s fun \u2013 I get to deal with all of the different MWR facilities \u2013 from selling burgers (managing the payment system) to CYS. My coworkers are fantastic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tice was recently recognized for his 25 years of service with the Department of Defense by Wiesbaden Family and MWR Director Greg Holzinger, on behalf of U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden Commander Col.
