Arlington National Cemetery Recognizes Medal of Honor Recipients

Medal of Honor recipients visited Arlington National Cemetery to participate in an Army full honors wreath-laying ceremony in recognition of Medal of Honor Day.

Medal of Honor recipients former Army Command Sgt. Maj. Robert M. Patterson and Col. Walter J. Marm Jr. took part in the ceremony along with other military officials.

The nation first celebrated Medal of Honor Day on March 25, 1991. It was on that date in 1863 that the first Medals of Honor were presented.

More than 400 Medal of Honor recipients have been laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.
