POZNAN, Poland – Soldiers moving to Camp Kosciuszko in Poznan are now eligible for 24-month accompanied tours with adult dependents age 18 years and older, the Pentagon outlined in a memo Aug. 19.

Those assigned to U.S. Army Garrison Poland’s Powidz or Swietoszow Military Communities will continue to be on 12-month unaccompanied tours. This policy will not affect units based in the United States who arrive in country on nine-month rotations.

“Bringing permanently stationed Soldiers with their families to Poland is a significant milestone as we continue to build our Army home on NATO’s Eastern Flank,” said Col. Jesse Chace, USAG Poland commander. “With these families, the garrison is setting its roots and making our permanence truly tangible.”

Since USAG Poland’s activation on March 21, 2023, the garrison has grown from small band of Soldiers and civilians into a 100-strong team supporting 7,500 troops in the V Corps area of responsibility.

“For the past year-and-half our team of Installation Management Command professionals along with our Polish allies have been setting the stage with top quality services and infrastructure,” said Chace. “We’re ready.”

Government civilians continue to be eligible for 24-month tours with adult dependents age 18 years and older in Poznan, and 24-month unaccompanied tours at other garrison locations.
