SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawai’i (September 1, 2024) — Local Army units are scheduled to conduct routine training activities in September that may be heard by surrounding communities.

Training can occur during daytime and nighttime hours and is subject to change. Weather, such as overcast conditions and Kona winds (southerly) can increase noise and vibrations.  Should individuals hear noise, there is no immediate danger.

To report concerns related to noise or training, contact the NEW U.S. Army Hawaii’s Community Concern Line at (808) 787-1528 or usag.hawaii.comrel@army.mil. Concerns are responded to during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Special Training Notice: The U.S. Army will be conducting the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) annual training mission. During this time, residents may experience increased military convoy traffic on the roads, and increased ground training and military aircraft overflight noise. Please expect to see increased low-flying helicopters over the training areas and fixed-wing aircraft flown in and out of Wheeler Army Airfield. This exercise is critical for the U.S. military to prepare its ability to deploy, fight, and win in combat operations across the Indo-Pacific, if required. 25th Infantry Division and U.S. Army Garrison sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause you and/or your family.

For the community’s awareness, the training is as follows:

  • September 14-16, 17-19
  • Multi-Purpose Range Complex: Live Fire Exercise
  • 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • 5:00 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.
  • September 3-6, 9-13
  • Artillery and mortar live fire training on Schofield Barracks
  • (Day and Night Live Fire, including late evening and early morning hours):
  • 12:00 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.
  • 6:00 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.
  • September 14 – 15
  • Demolitions Training: 5:00 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.
  • September 3-6, 9-21, 23-27
  • East Range – Range and Jungle Tactics, Small Arms Blank Fire: 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • September 6,12,17,19
  • East Range – Aviation Training: Day Only

The military appreciates the understanding and continued support of the local community. While sometimes loud, this training is critical to ensure military units and service members are ready to accomplish their mission and return home safely.

To report concerns related to noise or training, contact U.S. Army Hawaii’s Noise Concern Line at (808) 787-1528 or usag.hawaii.comrel@army.mil

Concerns are responded to during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Army produces this monthly schedule to alert neighbors of upcoming training activities that are louder in nature and may be heard outside the military installation. This schedule is subject to change and is not inclusive of all Army aviation/unmanned aircraft system (UAS) activities, or East Range training activities (between Wahiawa and Mililani Mauka). To receive Army training advisories directly, email usag.hawaii.comrel@army.mil with “Subscribe Training” in the subject line.
