Robert Altee, an 89-year-old retired Air Force airman, was awarded a gift basket from the garrison commander for being recognized as the servicemember that has been retired the longest. “I owe the Air Force a good life and, as it turns out, a long one,” said Altee, who retired in 1973.
Guest speaker, retired Sergeant Major of the Army Daniel Dailey, discussed key retiree issues being developed and updates to the challenges facing the military retiree community today. The former Sgt. Maj. of the Army serves as the U.S. Army’s Retired Soldier Council Co-Chair and as the Association of the United States Army NCO and Soldier Programs Vice President.
