ANSBACH, Germany – U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach will conduct a routine force protection exercise on its installations. The exercise will take place between Aug. 19-22, 2025.

All U.S. Army locations in Europe are holding U.S. Army Europe-Africa (USAREUR-AF) Force Protection exercises, known as Enhanced Protection Operations (EPOs), at their respective installations, to include here at Ansbach.

During the exercise, the local community may notice increased security measures at installation gates and access control points, which may cause traffic delays.

The exercise is not a response to any specific threat. USAG Ansbach routinely practices protection protocols with mission and host nation partners through exercises and rehearsals to hone security processes.

We appreciate your patience as it is vital that we practice our protection protocols through exercises like this one.

WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW:
  • Plan for closures and impacts to services during the exercise. You will NOT be able to check people in at the gates during the exercise.
  • Always carry 2 forms of photo ID when entering USAG Ansbach.
  • Register in Alert! today. Alert is the U.S. Army’s mass warning notification system. Visit the Ansbach garrison website at home.army.mil/ansbach and click the Alert button in the left column.
