WIESBADEN, Germany — Wiesbaden Family and MWR Functional Administrator Jeremy Tice is no stranger to military life.

A self-proclaimed “military brat” and graduate of Wiesbaden High School, Tice has spent most of his adult working career in various positions with MWR and the Army and Air Force Exchange Service.

“I’ve probably worked about 30 different jobs during my life so far,” said the Birmingham, Ala., native.

Having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental management with a minor in psychology, Tice initially wanted to be a Park Ranger.

In 2005 he took a job with Wiesbaden Family and MWR at the Rheinblick Golf Course before moving on to work with MWR’s Child and Youth Services – and eventually the MWR IT division.

“I was always tinkering on my own – taking friends’ computers apart,” he said, explaining that MWR Lead Information Technology Specialist Larry Harmon encouraged him to become “base-line certified.”

“I realized he’s a really fast learner and basically has outgrown his functional administrator role,” said Harmon, explaining that like his fellow IT professionals, Tice has taken on the multifaceted challenges that comprise the position.

“It all comes naturally to him,” said Harmon. “He’s extremely competent and has stepped way beyond his set of duties (comparing him to a real-world application manager in the civilian world).”

Harmon added that he can count on Tice’s know-how and dedication. “He’s available mornings, weekends and nights – whenever he is needed.”

“I like where I’m at,” said Tice, a married father of two teenage children. “It’s fun – I get to deal with all of the different MWR facilities – from selling burgers (managing the payment system) to CYS. My coworkers are fantastic.”

Tice was recently recognized for his 25 years of service with the Department of Defense by Wiesbaden Family and MWR Director Greg Holzinger, on behalf of U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden Commander Col. David Mayfield.
